Tuning into the voice of your customers can help bridge the gap between what your customers want and what you are providing.
According to Consumer Experience Matters, "emotion is the component of customer experience that has the largest impact on loyalty." What your customers feel when they walk in the door, how they interact emotionally with your people and your brand, and how they perceive their experiences with your company has spawned a new hot keyword: Emotional Analytics.
Retention is the new hip key word. But what is it? Why is it important?
Your boat is on fire in the middle of the ocean.
A little ironic; there's so much water around but none of it can help you. The fire is too far from the water to do any good; you don't have anything to carry it. You have three choices: the first is to bail out and swim for it, but then you'll lose your boat. You look around for more options. You see a bucket that has one big hole in it. You also see a bucket with a whole bunch of little tiny holes in it. Which do you take?

According to Statistic Brain, 45% of Americans have a resolution every New Year's Day. Half of those will have walked away from their resolution by this time. Only about 8% of resolutioners manage to keep at it and succeed by the end of the year. Whether your vow is to workout more, loss weight, write a novel, spend less, or travel more, the vast majority of American's won't even make it a month.

Given the flaws in America's student loan lending system, it probably won't shock any of you that I was hesitant to go to college after high school. Student debt and student loans follow their own rules; here in America, they can follow you through bankruptcy and follow their own, barbaric ways of calculating interest. The thought scared 17 year old me, trying to pick a college. I knew my parents would pay for the first few years, but I was never a good student. How much would this end up costing me in the end (Spoiler alert: $22,000 when all is said an done)?
